what is this part ?? (pic)

I need some help finding out what this part is and how to fix the problem because it has a slow oil leak.

I would guess either your front crankshaft seal or oil pan gasket is leaking. But judging by the bad picture, it's hard to say. Is your oil pan soaked in oil as well?

Umm the oil panel gasket was change after my last oil change they said the was leaking. so it might be my front crankshaft seal if so is this a job i can do or is it better to take it to the shop. I apologize once again for the bad pic. thanks for your help

I'm honestly not 100% sure it's the front crank seal.

But if you were to change it, it would be as if you were replacing the timing belt. You just have take the extra step of pulling off the crank pulley. So if you're not comfortable doing that, then I would take it to a shop.

I will look again tomorrow to pen point were its is coming from. If i cant find it i guess ill take it to the shop and have it looked at. Thanks again for your help

Maybe the oil pan gasket is still leaking Its possible to over tighten it and spit out the gasket...
dont ask me how i know :oops:
