Them being brand new has absolutely nothing to do with it.....I'm sorry, but you should have done some research or let a more experienced person plan, select, and install your "system". First of all, you are giving off max power rating. They mean nothing. Forget them. If you are running a factory deck you are getting anywhere from 8-15 RMS power at best, to each speaker. If you have an aftermarket, you are usually looking at 18-22 RMS. When you look at the RMS power handling of your speakers, those numbers are generally much higher, typically at least 60 and up for most aftermarket speakers. No RMS power is not an indication of how much power a speaker needs to have, in fact all speakers have a range in which they will do quite well. Now since you don't know much about this, I won't getting over your head with thiele-small parameters, but basically certain speakers need more power than others to perform well. Basically, for your listening taste, you are starting to clip the signal at the headunit, which is in the end turning into distortion; you're trying to crank up the volume past a point where the signal is too weak to drive your speakers effectively. You need amplification. I hate to tell you this, but to be honestly you have done this wrong. I would return the speakers. Spend your money on the front stage, you want a decent set of component speakers up front, this is where the majority of your sound should be coming from. I cannot stress this enough, there is no need for rear speakers, unless you frequently have a lot of passengers or like a cacophony of sound. Anyone who does sound quality competitions or is remotely interested in SQ will tell you this. Put that money up front, don't spend like $250 on 4 speakers when you should really be putting that towards a decent component set and amplification. Also, off the top of my head, you could have them wired out of phase and I'm sure the doors are not sealed and deadened properly, coupled with inferior baffle mounting. This all equals cancelation which equals crappy sound. I hope this has been some food for thought for you.
