I bought a turbo kit from my friend who just got the car and doing a motor swap. When he pulled it off its bein cut up from the guy who had it before him. Its a jdm sport turbo kit but i would like to know if i have to put the same brand back on or if i can buy just any brand downpipe for my car.

as long as the hot-side flange/gasket is there, then you can weld any pipe to it.

If the whole downpipe is missing you either have to order a flange to match the turbo and have a downpipe made/welded on OR have the exhaust shop make you one.

Find the specs of the turbo (make, model, hot side AR) and search with "downpipe" after it and I'm sure you'll hit 2k results... or skip that and bring the car to an exhaust shop.

Get the correct flange for your turbo (5 bolt, 4 bolt, etc) and take it to a muffler shop and have them fab one up for you.

Or you can order one from eBay with the correct piping size, o2 bung, and turbo flange and have the muffler shop make it fit for you since it wont fit out of the box without cutting and welding. This is the cheaper route.
