does it matter what octane ( 87 or 92 ) gas to use for my turbo set up? is it ok to just use regular unleaded.?

yeah this is the way it works, it may sound strange but trust me I did my home work.

low octaine gas burns fast and hotter and better and is easier to produce. It is used in low compression engine.

high octane gas burns at lower temp wich is important for high compression because high compression makes a lot of additional heat wich leads to detonation caused when the gas ignites when the air over heats due to compression ( like a desiel engine) thats why switching to race gas stops detonation.

So in short you will need the highest octane gas avalible in your area for optimal performance, consult whoever tunes your car

No problem man, got any details on what kind of turbo set up you are doing. Is it custom or a pre fab kit ?

I strongly disagree with that guy. Its ok for a few days ar for a short trip to a tuning shop but not at high rpms or for long pierods of time. Think about it even the 5psi kit sold by greddy, hks, revhard ....ect come with some sort of fuel managment, sorry to tell you this but your engine is at risk

Also, the knock rating is just the rating they give it to define how well it resists detonation. It really doesn't have much to do with burn rates that much.

td05 is not "that" small. its what comes with an integra greddy kit. get a fmu at the very least. and def use the highest octane around.

im not going to argue you since you know to get it tuned, im just saying, if you dont do it soon, youll be spending alot more than $150/hour. Just from experience.

this man does not know what he is talking about.

I hooked up a wideband and with 5psi and a td04, the afr was at16, which means seriously LEAN, and under boost it means kaboom!

this is less boost and a smaller turbo.

I wouldn't drive it, your motor may not have blown yet but I would bet you have seriously shorten the lifespan of that engine.

I'm interested in numbers from the dyno and tune. what else are you using to tune besides an FMU?
