okie so i posted up a thread talking about that my car keeps eating oil/burning oil... its weird because when i start the car.. no smell or nothing comes out my exhaust..and when im driving normal.. just cruising no smoke comes out my exhaust.. but if i push it thats when alot of blueish smoke comes out.. i was told their my valve seals... but im thinking of just buying a used d16 head and rebuilding it and just slap it on when im done... what do you guys think? my dad just told me to buy a new motor.. :what:

Not that I have a ton of experience with this, but it sounds like the piston rings to me. Trade what you've got for an SI.

It could be piston rings, valve seals, a couple of other things but those are the most common. Buying a new d-series motor would probably be the most effective way to fix the problem.

if you dont have access to a leak down tester you can do a compression test and after that add a cap full of oil in each cylinder and if the numbers go up(i forgot how much) that means its your rings.
if you dont have money to fix the car right now and if the above turns out good try this it may or may not help.

try adding a quart of dextron 2 to your motor oil. so 3 quarts of regular motor oil and a quart of dextron. drive it on the highway at like 55 or 60 for at least 30 min. this will swell up the valve seals and as a result youll have less smoke. dont run the motor for more than a day with the dextron tho because the oil is really thin.
