I will likely be buying a new 2013 Civic LX within the next 6months. An "average" dealer list price on Cars.Com, within 150 miles of my location (State College, PA) is approx. $17,633. My question is: "how much can I expect a dealer to come down off this advertised price?" I know this question is not quite so simple. I'll be destination fees, tax, etc. Plus, there may be incentives such as a $500 cash-back deal, or very low interest rates. However, at this point I'm just interested in forum members' experiences with your new Civic purchases over the past months.
Frankly, I hate the negotiation/bartering game. That's why the last three cars I've purchased have been from a nearby large-volume dealer who specializes in fleet vehicles and a non-negotiated price which is generally about $1000-1500 below Kelly Blue Book.
Only occasionally do Civics pass through their inventory. And, not always does the original (good) warranty remain with the used car at this dealership.
I think I'm ready for a new car. Any price advice is greatly appreciated.
