What to do

Well gas prices....blow....I drive a Honda Pilot and while the thing gets great mpg for an SUV driving 70+ miles a day is killing my wallet.

I still have my original car (been a hand me down since I bought it), my parents were gonna sell it since my sister doesn't use it anymore, but instead I am going to take her back and use her as a commuter/project car.

That said....this is the stats on her;
1992 SeaFoam Green (faded) Civic LX (4dr)
78,000 Original Miles, :cry: Automatic :cry:
Only things done to the car are some 17" Black Rims (make?)
Non-Cold Intake ("shortie")

I am looking at a few things and would like some opinions.

~To Primer or not??... I know it looks bad...but Im thinking about just shooting the car with a few cans of either gray or black primer. It would be an upgrade from the faded original paint that is on the car, imo. Also it would mask some of the damage that is on the car (which I plan on fixing myself [im not a mechanic]

~Either replace the cone filter, or just buy a stock box for the intake? Not really sure....

~Ac is shot in the car....I dont want to replace it so Im gonna buy some window shade/vent things to keep the windows down during the day...Any other options?

~Looking for suggestions...trying to put as little money into this car as possible but still have a good time with it.

I got out of the car scene after I bought my pilot back in 07 and really miss working on cars....so any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

just replace the air filter thats on there now. and the ac probably just needs a new compressor which you can get at a junk yard. with a little paint and tlc it can be a really nice civic! goodluck

Yeah I was thinking about going and getting a cheap paint job from like Maaco but I really dont want to dump a bunch of money into the car.

As for the AC I had to replace the car right after I originally bought it in '98.....they replaced the entire system...I will have to look at it when I get the car in my possession.

Ohh and I forgot to mention there is an issue with the driver side door electrics.

Something about the harness on the door (the clip is broke). To get the power windows to work you have to push the hardness in and jiggle it while the door is open.

Anyone know where I can pick up a part like that (or part number) and how hard it would be to fix?
