Did you screw the front of the lip? Did it have predrilled holes in the front before? Just wonderin cuz I never saw a lip with screws drilled in the front. IMO you should've gone with double-sided tape to hold down the front of the lip to the bumper.

I was thinking about it, but the truth of the matter is in florida anything thats taped doesnt really last long due to the wet-hot-sticky weather. Raining like 3 times a week. The front only had 1 screw holding it in place. Which kinda made it sag on the sides. I wanted to make sure that it was on there and not coming off. Also, there was a huge amount of space between the middle of the lip and my bumper...i would of had to use like 5-6 layers of double sided tape to eat up the distance between. I just use 2 nuts on the screw, one on the inside of the bumper to keep the space, and then another behind that on the other side of the bumper.

I think i will paint the screw heads black so you cant tell there are there. The back i drilled into it also...cause again it would sag on the sides unless i put a screw there to hold it.

Ya, im going to head to auto zone tomorrow...im soo beat from being out in the sun for the 2 hours it took me to mount both sides.

You think touch up paint will get it black enough? I was thinking that i would have to drop a dab of primer on there, since i bought SSteel screws. Im hoping its thick enough to coat the screw head.

Im also bored with the White and Black look. Ive seen like 5 civics with the Ebony and ivory (living in perfect harmony). Im thinking about Si wheels or GSR Blades. I really love the way GSR blades look on a civic.

No lip is worth putting holes in the front of your bumper. 3M is what you should have used, and something you have probably never heard of called adhesion promoter.

I just went over to Auto zone and got some paint....painted the screws so you cant see them at all now. I just wanted to be sure that the lip doesnt sag when im driving on the highway, doing 70-80mph. It just seemed like it would sag, since it was used, i expected alittle sag in it. I know it would of been worse driving down the highway as the passing air would of been pushing down on it. Also, wanted to be DAM sure no one is able to steel it without some major work. Same thing with the back...it seems that its a tad bit warped right around where the exhaust comes out. I couldnt get it to mount right without putting some screws through the bumper and lip. I couldnt do it on the bottem sides, cause it doesnt sit flush there, only in the middle where the first screw goes. This is also bad because it pushes the lip farther up in the middle, making it look like it bent upwards, so i didnt use that screw for that reason.

I dunno if tape will hold up under florida weather. I only drilled a 7/16th hole in my bumper, its hardly noticeable at all.

I think i might end up painting my front/rear bumper and the side skirts. I prob would get the gaps filled with bondo and remove the screws.

Here is a shot with the screws painted, might reflect a tad cause the paint is still alittle wet....going to do another coat tomorrow to completely conceal them. What you guys think? Look better?

Does it really hold thought? Through the raining and then the heat? Hell, my rear view mirror glue wore out last summer with the 94F + heat and the humidity, which made it sticky as hell. Ill tell you what though, there is NO WAY this thing is coming off without me taking off my bumper =) I purposely put the screws in hard to reach places so that no one can get their hands in there.

Also where do you guys use the tape? The top of the lip only touches the very top of the crease in the bumper, there is about 1.5" of space between that.

Like i said, my bumpers are starting to look awful with the paint....florida heat makes the paint almost bubble up unless its on metal.

Its a toss up to me to get the side skirts painted to match...hmmmm

I really love the look of it though. For some reason it looks more like the Spoon type lip over the Mugen, however its got a sticker inside that says Mugen.

its weird though guys, when you look at it, it looks more like the Spoon lip....but its got a sticker inside that says Mugen style.....which do you guys think it looks like to you?

Whats getting me is that the mugen is the same height in the middle when you look at it, mine clearly isnt even at the bottem, its sort of curved.

i put screws in my old type-r lip b4, but olny cuz it snapped in half when hitting a ditch. but i grinded it a little and put some bondo on the screws, sanded and spray-can it, but i say just remove the screws and put some 3m and/or other adhesives. since its black on black u wont notice the holes.

ps. Drop FTW

oh yea and its def a spoon imatation, not mugen
