Ok so over the winter, I wrecked my 98 EX and it's in the shop and getting fixed. In the meantime I'm driving a $400 1985 Corolla just to get me to and from work and what not. Yesterday, I go to get the car inspected, because the temp tag was way overdue. As I'm getting the car inspected, the guy who's doing it asks me if I like civic's. Naturally I said, "yes f**khead I drive a civic" but in much nicer words. He asks, "you want another one" pointing to his 1992 COMPLETELY primered bubbleback. I said, "no, wtf do i need a primered bubbleback for?" He grins and walks me over to the car, pops the hood, and I s**t my pants. :suprise:

Under the hood is a complete, and immaculately clean, B16A2 full motor swap, with AEM V2 CAI, DC Headers, and some other minor internals. I said, "what do you want for it?" HE grins and says, "even trade, title for title, you give me the title to the corolla, and i give you the title for the civic."

After an inspection of the civic, I find that the only things that need to be fixed are a small hole in the radiator (which'll cost me 150 to replace at most), the front axle seal, and eventually I'll need to replace the valve springs, retainer, and cam gears. So I figure, WTF even if the damn thing needs 1G worth of work, it's still a steal, I'm getting this title for 400 bucks! He and I are getting together first week in May to swap the titles, hopefully he doesn't screw me and decide not to sell or sell to someone else. Apparently, he wants to get out of racing, and wants to send the Corolla back to his home country in Central America.

So what ya think? He showed me the papers for the motor, it's completely legit, it also has GS-R front seats and Type-R rears. Y'all think I should go through with this? I mean I figure, worst case scenario, I garage it til I can fix it completely and put my 98 back to slightly modded and just drive it like that. Lemme know what ya think.

Yea? you think it's a good deal? Should I have someone look at it first? I mean I test drove it yesterday and it drove fine, so I figure at worst, I can drive it for a couple weeks til I get my coupe back and then garage it to fix the necessary equipment.

Yea it's rear wheel, i gotta be honest the Corolla is in fantastic shape for bein damn near 20 years old. The body of the Civic needs alot of work, but I don't give a s**t about that, I want that damn powerplant, ya know? I hopefully will have it like the first week of May, and as soon as I get it, I'll post pics of everything.
