i need help!!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

alright i have a 95' dc4 im just trying to find out whats better.. i have hurd alot of different sides to this.. but i havent made up my mind yet.... ok

my dc4 has a blown motor and i still havent diceded what engine to get and im spending my money and i feel imma spend it all before i buy it lol

whats better !!!!

b18b1: if i get b18b i wanna go ls/vtec i dont know the posible specs on what i can get....

or

b20z2: i wanna do crv/tec if i choose this ...

but the vtec part is not gonna be now but later....

can any one tell me what is better b18b or b20z whats faster stock...

whats cheaper... and i also hurd crv/tec is harder to make than ls/vtec because of the piston/valve clerance...

what would u people choose cause i need to know... would a b20z2 be faster in my car or a b18b.. thank... if u guys have engine specs that would help too.. and dyno slips on ls/vtec and crv/tec

thanks

Ok IMO i would get the b20 and resleeve it. that is the best way to go. i highly suggest you sleeve do to its weak cyclendor walls. and as far as b20 vtec goes i have never heard the valve issuses. and there is one down here that is 100% stock. :what:

B20Z, build for turbo later.

IMO I would go ls/vtec because It is stronger bottom end wise than the b20vtec is stock.

Im thinkin about either do the ls/vtec or turboing my D. 8)

LS/VTEC & CR/VTEC both have valve to piston clearence issues since the the pistons arent sufficiant for VTEC. You cant really advance your timing much more then 2-3degrees safely. B20B/Z are mearly B18A/B motors bored over to 84mm. Heres a LS/VTEC dyno

B20B would be more ideal for boost, B18B would have the stronger sleeves for it. Both have cast pistons & weak rods not ideal for boost

I'm just saying I prefer the B20z for now. I wouldn't chose a motor just to turbo it. I'd chose a motor I'd have fun with but could still improve. :what:

That still would be the B20B on stock internals lol. It still moves well enough allmotor.

not really. b20z has a 9.6 c/r, which is just fine, it also has oil squirters, which help keep it cool, the better flowing p75 head and cams.

I love you, Mike. =)

Thanks for the help.

I really would just want to start with a motor anyway though. No matter what motor it is (as long as it's not a B16.... I don't like B16s.)

love you too amy. a b20z2 is definitely a fun street motor. torque is nice in a honda. that being said, if maximum boosted hp is your intention, or if your going to sleeve the motor, go with a b18b b/c its cheaper to begin with. imo, if you want a vtec motor, get one- save up for a b18c.

Well, we already know if I were to ever swap I'm only going for something fun on the street. I'm not too concerned with beating everyone on the road or having high hp. Sure, one day down the road maybe I'd turbo it, but I honestly haven't decided one way or another yet. Hell, I'm not going to swap probably for years anyway!

i'm running a b20z and a b16a head on my coupe...my friend who did the swap said he either grinded teh pistons or the valves..i can't remember for sure, but he did that for the clearance issue.

in all honesty i hope your kidding....if you grind the pistons it means the comp ratio could be different in each cylinder...im not to sure of any precision grinders to grind pistons...lol....the pistons could be takin to a machine shop and the tops dished a little bit but buying the correct pistons would be a better bet

ehhh.. just go with a b18c and do some head work. b18b if your gonna turbo unless you plan on sleeving the b20
