Okay I am going to be buying a 92-95 civic hatch or coupe. I'm going to have somewhere around $8000 to put into buying the car and modifying it (engine swap, performance mods, paint, wheels, lights, body kit, ect.) I figure i can get a civic in good body condition and with little to no rust for maybe $2000? Does that sound about right? I want to swap an engine in it but I don't know which one. B-Series i guess. The only thing that seems to bother me is that the engines have no torque and cost an arm and a leg. I'm not looking to drag but i want to be able to pull into the 14's with quarter miles or less if its possible. So what should I get and for how much would the engine and parts to make it in the quarter mile range that i'm talking about be? Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to the land of hondas-- where torque is like a flock of dragons... IT DOESNT EXIST! They have no torque! Just pop in that B16 and rev it to 8000rpm. When that VTEC hits you'll be thinking "Torque? Isn't that some sort of German Alcohol?"

since you are planning on swapping right away and are interested is performance, may i suggest: a cx hatch, gsr brake conversion, suspension, itr engine(or gsr if itr is too much$). then you can take care of your goodies.

Yeah i love hatchbacks. Not just civics but like VW GTI's with the euro headlight conversion look f**kin bad ass, but of coarse i dont have the kind of money for a VW now as im in high school. Maybe when I get out of trade school and start workin at a garage somewhere in texas, south florida, southern cali, haha. How much is the ITR and what do you think 1/4 mile times and s**t would be with that?

:wstupid: the b18c1 has more torque of teh b18 and high end of teh b16, its your best choice....then a t25 turbo and your set....

if you want torque then get an h22 for $3100 for complete swap and it's 200hp with 163ft of torque , its' the most of all hondas, but,. the motor mount kit is $600 and there's little extra anoying things that you gotta get but, theres the all motor car that's ready with the torque you'll like.

Dont get a h22, leave that to preludes/accords.

Either go all-motor GSR, b20/vtec, or b16/turbo.

VX Hatch Good body 2000-3000 (VX lightest model)

GSR 4 wheel disc brake conversion $500-1000

Are you trying to go all motor or forced induction?
B18C5 ITR all motor
B16 Turbo

Just buy your motor and get it installed then worry about hookin it up I.E. Turbo

If you can afford it I would get a 1 piece coilover/strut right off the bat too!!

Are you going to be using this car as a daily driver? If so you need a reliable motor. The LS or B20 are great hybrids but they cost money to perform well and to maintain as well.
