What's up guys, I'm new.

Hey guys, my name is Brent. I just recently picked up a 92 Honda Civic Hatch vx for fairly cheap. I've been in the import scene for a while (Mostly just 240's though) I've gotten tired of the FR scene and decided to come chill with the FF crowd for a while. The guy I bought it from really messed it up, bondoed the taillights to the car (A real terrible job at that) and spray painted the top of the windshield white. <.<
Sorry for the excess text, I know how it can be annoying (At least it was over on the 240 forums)

Anyway, what do you guys think would be great to do to the car, performance and engine wise (Dunno if I wanna keep the d15, even though it gets great gas mileage) and also looks wise.

Here is the car when I first got it, it had a hood scoop (Wtf..lol) and a fat guy standing in front of it. I got a set of SI wheels for free off a friend of mine, pretty stoked because those wheels that are on it are...ugh.

Got the hood scoop off, didn't take much. (Those seat covers are gonna go as soon as I get this car on the road and a car wash to vacuum it out, the interior is pretty clean in it surprisingly) Seeing as I just lost my daily driver, I gotta get it goin' soon. and I'll be posting more pics soon! These are the only two I took. Anyway, thanks for looking! -Brent

Welcome to the site
The text is fine man it wasnt anywhere near to much. The d15 gets great gas mileage but it wont make you very much as far as hp and dosent respond well to mods like all d series really, but the y8 and z6's would be a better route than a d15.
There is always a mini me swap man.
Depending on hp goal and budget is where id have to steer my advice what are your plans and goals for her?

Hmmm, you know, I'm not too sure to tell you the truth. Right at the moment I'm not too worried about power and speed, mainly because I'm broke. I'm blessed to say I have wonderful friends around me that are helping me out with some nice parts they may have left over, just so my ride isn't as terrible looking. So for right now, until the cash flow is back on track (Yeah I got a job, but it's so crummy it barely gets me through the week) I'm just going to focus on the little things, like body work and paint. I do plan on in the future going something along the lines of an all white hatch, wheels and all, with a y8 head on a z6 block (If I'm not mistaken a friend of mine is running the same set up, N/A, and the last time I looked at his dyno sheet he was pushing almost 300 at the wheels. Yeah I'm not kidding, I didn't believe it either, but it was in paper, his motor was built like crazy though, I couldn't tell you what all he's done to that thing) I dunno though, I'm still learning what's good for a honda, I'm fresh out of the 240 scene, where we went either SR20, RB20-26, or just built our stock KA into a KA-T. Guess I just need to do my homework some, haha.

Well sounds like you know what you can and want to do for now basically, scan the forums for other builds and maybe you will get some more ideas, Anyhow welcome to the site and honda world.

d series dont make 300 to the wheels without a good amount of boost on them so i have a hard time believing it was na pushing it. Not saying it isnt true its just very hard to believe.
in the future id just leave the d15 bottom and mini me either a y8 or zh head on it.

Haha believe me dude, I still don't believe it, heck, I had a hard time getting that out of my 240 and it was boosted. He's not telling me something, I just know it, but I promise, I was there when I saw the results. It still blows my mind, I'll see if I can get the paper and take a picture of it for you guys. But anyway, so you think a mini me swap huh? Never really heard much about using a d15 block for anything, I'll read up on it, thanks.

Haha my d15 already has V-Tec, so it shouldn't be too much wiring if any difference. And bro, I wish I had some, but I lost all of my pictures when my laptop was stolen. My 240 is only a vague memory that I, and my closest friends, have. Sorry to burst your bubble man. :/

If it is a D15Z1 which is the motor that should come stock in that car then it dosent have it.
If it does have it its swap.

It's possible it could be a swap, but the V-Tec solenoid is right there on the head, I questioned it myself to a friend, he said he hasn't seen many of them around.

I'm not around the car right now so I couldn't tell ya man. Could it be possible that it's a z1 that is a v-tec-e? Correct me if I'm wrong. xD

Not true, they have d16z6s single cams all motor into the 11s it's just expensive as f**k to do. But don't count em out, if yu have money until yu dip into the 10sec range, all gods motors have equal potential.

I know it can be done i meant within any kind of budget.
No 92-95 vx came with a motor that had vtec stock from honda so its a swap easiest thing to do it look for the stamp when you get around the car
If im wrong someone chime in but im pretty sure im not.

Hey guys! Sorry it's been a while since I've last posted, got some updates!

We didn't really do much to tell you the truth, we went on ahead and sprayed it flat black and got some free coilovers (They're cheap, but for free, I'm not complaining, and they can still go a lot lower) so I'm no longer sitting at 4x4 ride height.

Then we go to this. :

Not bad huh? More to come.

Sorry for the lack of pictures, I'm too busy to take a lot, but few is better than none!
