does the bov onlie come on when boost is reached? cuz before i was actuallie showing boost on the boost gauge..i would hear the bov and i would hear spooling..but now that im using the td05 turbo instead of the td04..i onlie hear the bov when boost is reached..and the bov is not making a woosh or w/e sound..instead i think it makes a little pssh then *cricket cricket cricket* it reallie does sound like crickets =)

bov engages when you let off the gas, it sounds to me like you are hearing the wastegate. the wastegate should open while you are spooilng but only after you reach the amount of boost allowed by your wastegate spring. IE you have a 7psi spring in your wastegate, you will spool up to 7 psi and any boost beyond that point is expelled through the waste gate.; someone please correct me if i am wrong.

its should go off when you shift and when boost is made, the point of a bov is to let the pressure out of the intake pipe as you let off the gas to shift.

no load = no boost = no blow off
kinda wrong, we turboed a miata, every time you let off the gas it went off even a little, even if you never went near boost.

if you honestly hear boost when your boosting, chances are you bov is too loose, tighten the valve up.
