Where to buy d16z6 and tranny

I want to buy a d16z6 and an EX or SI tranny. I was going to buy one off of ebay, but everyone said that $600 for the engine without the tranny was a rip off. So, I just want to know where I oculd buy one with the tranny. I don't want to pay over $1000, but I need the new engine, and would pay over if needed.

go buy a how wrecked car from either a salvage yard or auction.

I don't know about the engine but it's easy to find the trannys in junk yards here.
you could always get the engine and set it on a dx tranny. there's nothing wrong with that. If you boost then you might want a ex tranny.

I changed my mind. I no longer want a d16z6. I am now looking at a b16a out of an siR II. I know of a couple places that have them for pretty cheap ($2200) with the tranny and everything, but are there anyplaces that are cheaper?
