what's the difference between peak & hold and saturated injectors? it's time to buy some for my project but I don't know which ones are the right ones to get. and is injector size dependent on the HP goal? how much is too much? any help is appreciated.

how much boost are you planning on running? peak and hold injectors need a resistor box and satuarated ones dont..i know im going to get saturated ones cause i dont want ani extra wires

all i know is that dsm blue tops (450cc) are peak and hold and get an accord resistor box or 10w 10ohm resistors

was planning on running 12-18 psi. think 450s will fit the bill or will i need bigger? i was gonna get some RCs instead of trying to wire up some DSMs. RCs don't need a resistor box though do they?

no matter wat brand the injectors are..if they are peak hold they will need some sort of resistor..12-18 psi..i'd recommend 550cc and above..im going to be running 10 psi and im getting 550cc's just to be on the safe side

how can you possibly recommend any injector without knowing what turbo he is running? 12-18psi on a t25 wouldnt even come close to maxing out DSMs, neither would 12-18psi on a t3, 14b, blah blah blah

without knowing the turbo, giving advice is pointless

hmm...i had no idea it depended on the turbo. alls i know is that it's a turbonetics. i bought it used....would the serial numbers be able to tell me what kind of turbo it is?

possibly.

dont base your setup on a psi goal, decide on what hp you want to make and run whatever psi it takes to get you there

whats your hp goal. use that when deciding on parts, not what psi your running. psi dont mean s**t

In order to select the correct size injector for your application, use the following formulas.

In most cases a naturally aspirated engine will have a B.S.F.C of .50. This means that the engine will use .50 lbs. of fuel per hour for each horsepower it produces. Turbocharged engines will want to be at .60 lbs. per hour or higher.

Using these numbers as a guideline, you can select the approximate injector size in the following formula for a four cylinder, naturally aspirated engine at 200 bhp.

Most injectors will max out at 80% duty cycle and this is the accepted industry standard.

B.S.F.C is brake specific fuel consumption - How much fuel you are using per horsepower per hour

thanks neo, you're the nuts...as far as a hp goal, i honestly have no idea. i guess whatever the engine will do. apparently, my motor is going to be more of a beast than i thought. my shop said the head alone is built for around 500hp. i think 500 hp on a dd is a little much. originally i was hoping to be around 300. so far my setup has:
bdl cam gears
crower 402T cams
crower valves/springs/retainers
wiseco pistons (9.0:1)
eagle rods
arp rod bolts
all new bearings and thrust washers (race spec)
sleeved/bored/honed block
skunk2 intake manifold
turbonetics turbo/wastegate (7psi spring)
hks ssq bov
2.5" intercooler piping
spearco intercooler
and probably some other s**t that i'm forgetting. i guess my biggest question is when is it enough. and what thickness head gasket should i get? i didn't know they came in different thicknesses.....i always thought a head gasket was a head gasket.

phearable.net has a nice little injector size/ hp chart in there technical info section to help you decide which injectors are best.

Dude with that build you could run 400hp DD with a good tune NP. Sleeved FTW. I'm actually going to be running a manual dual stage boost controller low setting shooting for 370hp high setting about 470hp. Go with an OEM Honda Headgasket.

will an oem head gasket be able to withstand a build like this or would it be better to go with a cometic or hks head gasket? thanks for the props on the build. alls i have left to get is a tranny and a decent shell. finding an ls tranny in cincinnati is tough though. i had a buy setup last week but the dude sold it to someone else before i got there....after i called and told him i was on my way. sucks, but oh well. any tranny reccomendations? what else will work with an ls motor besides an ls tranny?

OEM Head Gaskets can withstand just about anything. I've heard nothing but problems from aftermarket headgaskets.

it's a '94 b18b1. i know a GSR trans is pretty coveted due to the ratios, but it's gonna be seeing alot of highway. i've been trying to source an ls trans, but so far no dice. i heard through the grapevine that a civic si tranny will work, but i don't know the years. i just know i need a hydraulic tranny. what else will work?
