i have a 93 del sol with a jackson racing supercharger on it, Uberdata, and dsm injectors. when the d15 bottem end goes capute, im going to do a motor swap, either a d16y8, or a b18 gs-r swap or a b18 ls with a b16 head on it. i was wondering which setups would be best for:
a. fully built (ported heads, upgraded valves and springs, forged internals, upgraded cam, sleeved block)
b. stock everything.
c. cost efficient

Can't go wrong with an LS motor. Excellent compression ratio, cheap as hell, and dime a dozen.

any d16 is your best bet. all the power you can handle without some susp upgrades.

If I am reading his thread right he already has the Supercharger for a d-series motor and he said when the motor he has now goes out he is going to do a swap. If you are going to keep the supercharger you are gonna have to get a d-series motor so the Supercharger will fit. I am pretty sure that the Supercharger you have now won't fit a b-series motor. So then you will have to get another setup. Either sell your system you have now and start over or have one fast d-series supercharged motor.

non vtec is a better bet for forced induction - much easier to tune... look at dyno's of vtec motors with forced induction... hard to keep them spiking everwhere (especially above 5600) find a b20 and a mean turbo.... i don't know why more people don't do that swap???

because b20's aren't that stoutly built. ls turbo is the way to go

with a good tune this can be done.

I agree running a gsr motor is the best bet really for fi or na. Stout motor proven to make power.

Its not as much of the vtec system as the head flow and atleast on a low boost setup I was working on a buddies car that wasn't Xing over but boosting still nicer then LS turbo.

LS all motor seems to be getting trendy god knows why.

of course vtec heads flow better, vtec is just another kick in the nuts on top of the better flowing head.how do you think they rev so high and nicely?on a shitty head?i think not
