Hello, I'm new to posting threads, I had a question, and Yes I tried searching and no answer.
My license plate bulbs are #168; I'm looking for a nice Bright white light not dim & blue. I was thinking about buying PIAA Super White 168 bulbs, but now I hear about Leds everywhere. I also heard that Leds are directional and they don't spread light as much. I kept searching and I see these High Power Leds etc,etc..
Which would be the best kind of bulb for the license plate of our cars, besides the clear dull bulbs? :x

Thanks :D

leds would work great cause you can direct light directly at your plates. try www.superbrightleds.com

who wants people to see your licenses plate anyways

i just use regular bulbs you replace with from autozone. those still illuminate pretty bright IMO :???:

I had to use LEDs on my bike because the vibration would kill 194s in about a week

White LEDs weren't widely availible. I used yellow. Suprisingly, the cops never questioned it. They'd write tickets to those fools with their tags mounted on the fender liner or on the end of the swingarm without lights but never questioned mine. :what: Supposed to be white light.

What would happen if we used 2 #74 LED bulbs in a light blue to illuminate our plate? Is that legal in cali?

Or should I say Bluish White becuase in Cali blue is illegal to be see outside... OOooh wait! If the bulb isnt readily seen then its diffused light which IS legal! ... I fricking love loopholes!

So yea, someone else tell me that its legal, cuz if you cant see the bulb itself (which you cant becuase our bulbs are pretty much hidden inside the lip of the trunk over hanging the plate) then its diffused lighting which is allowed. Correct?
