I've never liked Sony car audio personally but sound is a preference. I would go with Alpine.

i've thought and made up my mind going with the alpine as you guys mentioned...
sub

amp

power it with an 2 channel amp bridged, the sub is 200w RMS, while the sub is at 140w RMS, should this be a problem? or it would be fine as long as i dont turn it up too loud?
The AMP is 200RMS??????

Then yes turn the gain down to about 3/4 and you'll be fine.

Out of those 2 choices I'd go with alpine. I'm a rockford fosgate fan though.

whoops i meant the amp is only 140
OK turn the gain down a little. You just dont want to send the sub 'dirty' (distorted) signals... that can hurt just as much as overpowering your sub.

If full gain is at 5 olcock, turn it to 4 oclock on the dial...
