hi, newbie here. just wondering if any illumination problems have arrived with anyone with the white face gauge overlays. white with red numbers looks good during the day, but would it be hard to see at night? if anyone knows about it please let me know so i have more confidence in buying them. they are off ebay, made by pilot i guess. here's a link to them.CLICK HERE Thank you.

p.s. they said the needles won't need to be removed to put them in. is that true? if not, how do i take off the needles safely. also, can't stock needleds be color with like a sharpie or somthing to be seen easier against the white gauges? thanks.

I put APC SpeedGlos in my 96 Civic, the trick is to do it carefully in other words when you have a day with nothing to do. I had some minor trouble with the Gas/Engine Temp Guage and had to remove a needle but in that case you wanna make sure you write down the level the guage was set at, otherwise you will have future problems... I was an amature at customizing and did it with no problems... like I said PATIENCE PATIENCE PATIENCE my friend! Have fun and be careful.

what kind of problems? i didn't take off any needles, and tried hard as hell to put it back to where it was. wouldn't it go back to normal once you fill up the gas tank? just go to full? i don't wanna have problems.

right y9ou dont take the needles off and it should go back to full...

as far as lighting them upif the light is having touble penetrating them its going to be hard to fix.. in a 96-00 cluster there is additional lighting in front of the gauges to light up the needles, if that is the case for your gen also you could maybe juice that up a little and wire in some extra sockets... i went from standard to LED bulbs and they seem a lot brighter.. not sure if it would help this situation.....

my faces light up just fine. the numbers are a transparent red material that allow the numbers in back to go through. the only problem i have is that the rpm gauge doesn't perfectly align with the stock gauges they don't light as well, but still are visible. i'm kinda a perfectionist when it comes to that sort of thing. it might be that i didn't align it right, but with the needle stopper and the screw holes aligned, i don't see how i could rotate it to align the numbers. oh well, if i ever open up the cluster agian for any reason i'll try to fix it, or if i just can't take it anymore and have nothing else to do. but anyways, they light up just fine for me. maybe i'll put up a pic.
