ok so i have a 94 civic coupe dx i was recently at the highschool shop class talking to my old shop teacher well turns out it was a dyno day he was doing a demo using the shop dyno....well being the old hot rod v8 guy the shop teacher is he starts bashing on my civic well turned into a bet we are gonna dyno my car i have a ls b18 with i/h/e 8lbs flywheel 6 puck clutch and the ctr n1 crankpulley that weighs 2lbs he thinks my car will put down high 90s or low 100s as far as whp tellin me i will barely break 100 if i break 100whp i was thinkin more like 115???? what would the CC community think as far as my whp.......idk if it matters i am running a b16 trannsmission

i think your gonna break more than 100? i think 130-140ish

i dont think that high the motor is rated at like 140bhp so that would be at the crank and have 100% efficiency as far as transferring power to the wheels is impossible

He probably knows the DYNO READS LOW and is trying to make a bet with you... I bet you wont make over 100whp.

he is fairly new at using the dyno when i was in school we never got to use the dyno because he didnt know how but he has been messin with it and calling the manufacture and the shop truck they had on the dyno the other day was the first vehicle he had dynoed so idk

ya its just a lunch bet nothing serious loser buys lunch but i said my car will break 110 so i am hopin a 115 area but he needs to hurry on gettin that ls on the dyno because it will soon be ls/vtec

Maybe... I remember we dynoed an LS motor with i/h/e out here and it net 94whp/112trq. This was on a Mustang dyno.

Mustang = Lower reading dyno (people would say it's almost similiar to "real" world output)
Dynojet = higher reading dyno

and then of course there's your standard issue Buttdyno. mine is pretty accurate, but it had to be tuned and calibrated properly before hand. tell your teacher that your butt dyno was reading high if you lose this bet
