Hey everyone..so yeah just got my lc-1 wideband 02 sensor from innovatemotorsports (www.innovatemotorsports.com) and was wondering if anyone has ever done an install on their 6th gen before? Ive searched around on the net and its impossible to find one for innovate lc-1 and hard enough to find a general one..for all widebands. So if anyone has installed a wideband (innovate or not) on their 6th gen..please help out.. thanks

i did a plx m300 on my 5th gen. it was pretty straightforward, just unbolt the old sensor, bolt in the new one, plug in the wiring harness to the controller box (you wont do this, you dont have a controller box), take the narrowband output wire and hook it up to the o2 input wire on the ecu, and hook up the wideband wire to your a/f gauge. when you want to tune/datalog, hook up the wideband output to the o2 sensor wire.

i installed the plx 300 on my 6th gen. pretty much like mike explained. replace your 1st o2 sensor with the one provided. plug the sensor into the harness that runs to the display box. from the display box (the plx has a narrowband and wideband output wire) run the narrowband wire and tap into the specific wire at the ecu. i also taped into the power and ground wires that go into the ecu as well. when you want to datalog swap the narrowband output with the wideband wire. i also had to wire a 10 watt 10 ohm resistor to the heater wires (both black wires) at the empty harness coming off the engine harness to prevent that engine code from coming up.

so on the plx all i would have to do is tap into the narrow on the socket that the other one was into?? or will i throw a CEL because it doesn't recognize it?? i'm confused i too was wondering this as i'm gonna be going boost here in teh spring, or would i even need one since i'm just going w/ the preset settings on the greddy kit??

on most wideband kits including the plx, theres an narrowband output which goes to the wire to where your ecu receives 02 signals (in other words, the narrowband output satisfies the ecu). Since the ecu cant use wideband signals, the narrowband output is there so that u dont throw a CEL..

ok so what do i do w/ the empty socket when i unplug the OEM sensor and remove it, what would go there?? nothing and the wideband provides a wire that you tap to the signal wire and it keeps it from throwing a CEL??

the wideband sensor replaces your OEM sensor...and the wideband has a wire (narrowband output) that u tap to the OEM signal wire and it keeps if from throwing a CEL..

so pretty much you leave the plug open and just tap into the signal wire??? wouldnt' that throw a code for not having the heaters functioning?

i have the xd-1/lc-1 wbo2. here's what i did to install it in my 6th gen si.
1. remove center console, then where the second o2 sensor is coming through the floor, it will be behind the cupholders under the carpet.
2. dont hack your factory harness, hack your factory o2 sensor wire and plug the factory plug back in and splice them wires with the lc-1's wires.
3. search around for which wire is the o2 signal to ecu and tap one of the 2 "either will work" analog o2 sensor outputs from the lc-1 to the factory o2 signal wire.
4. next find a common ground point for the lc-1's system ground and heater grnd wires. i used a bolt back there behind the dash.
5. next tap a black wire, one of these is the power wire u will use to power the lc-1.
6. next BEFORE you put the new o2 sensor in its place do a free air calibration and heater calibration, the manual tells u how to do this.
7. next obviously before u put everything away make sure it works.
8. next, put it back in and test it out, open logworks2, which can be dl'd from innovate and adjust your settings/log/setup factory sensor/etc.

have fun w/ it, its by far the sickest wbo2 for the price, actually all together imho. and when i went to the dyno it was DEAD ON W/ their wbo2.

where did you mount the lc-1 controller? And did you replace your primary 02 sensor or what? How did you run the wires from the 02 sensor? Gimme details haha..

i just jammed everything, the little controller, wiring, etc. underneath the cupolders, if u reach there, u'll see there is like 2 inches of free space under there.
i replaced secondary o2 sensor, u just crawl under your car, unplug the o2 sensor, and let it dangle under the car by the wires, then cut the wires about 5 inches up from the o2 sensor itself, toss the factory o2 sensor, go inside the car, pull the cut wires through the floor and splice the cut wires to your lc-1 wbo2 kit as described by color below, then do a free air calibration with the black wire coming off the lc-1 as described in the lc-1's instruction manual, then plug it in the hole, your done have a beer or 2 or 6, call a buddy and rub your new part in his face, etc., well thats what i did, u choose what to do after u screw it in the hole, lol.

lc-1 > factory plug wiring colors listed below:

red > a black wire on the factory plug u cut, get a voltmeter and determine which black wire is positive
silver and blue > common ground point in the car
yellow/brown(choose one) > factory o2 sensor signal wire(the white one) on the factory plug u cut

u dont use the negative black wire and the green one on the factory plug, and u dont use a few wires from the lc-1.

thats it, any other questions plz ask.

What brand of WBO2 are you talking about. I need one for this springs turbo install. Also what was the price you bought it for. Are they universal or do you have to get a certain one for the civic?

INNOVATE is the brand at innovatemotorsports.com

i paid 372.98 from a local shop for the xd-1/lc-1 guage/controller combo kit, but you can also buy what sk8shorty bought for around 200 bucks, basically does almost the same thing but u dont have the guage.

wbo2 kits are pretty much universal, u can go w/ a PLX device, an innovate, an aem uego, or you can even build your own kit. search around, google some stuff , etc. you'll find what you need to know.

Thanks. Do you know how you program the Lc1? I have an autometer A/F gauge and was going to use it but the info on Inovate's website says you have to program the Lc1 for that gauge. I didn't see anything as to what you use to do this. I would like to get buy with just the $200 Lc1 instead of spending $400 for the gauge and Lc1 combo. I have a laptop and was wondering if this is how you program it but I didn't see where it comes with hook up to the laptop in the pics or description. The Lc1 does seem to be the way to go though..

heh, i got you covered bro. I bought the $200 version (same thing but without the gauge). I too have an autometer a/f gauge & there is a way to integrate both (aka so that you can get a wideband reading through your autometer a/f gauge). You hook one of the outputs from the lc-1 to the purple wire on the a/f gauge (instead of pluggin the purple wire to the ecu). Then, with the cd-rom they provide you with you set the reading between 0.5-1.0 so that its an accurate reading, then your set to go. Real solid setup imo. Good luck with the build, keep us updated & if you have any further questions, feel free to hit me up

When you buy the Lci does it come with a connection to a laptop? I am gonna buy one either way....I just want to know if I have to buy anything else with it so I can get it all at the same time. Thanks for the info guys. This week alone I have bought a hf manifold, 450cc injectors, and a oil pan (so I can have as little down time as possible). I already have a IHI turbo, blow off valve, and intercooler. Next are the tubeing, hoses and FMU. I have a VAFC already but I need a better engine management system. Thanks for the info guys.
