Will 1996 honda civic stock rims fit on my 1999 honda civic?

I bought a set of (4) of 4 x 100 stock steel rims and tires that came off a 1996 civic. To put on my 1999 civic however I could not get them to fit. I looked around on the internet and alot of people say they fit but I could not get them on. It seems like the brakes might be larger on the 99 civic than the 96. I only say this because it seems like the breaks were what was stopping the wheels from fitting. And the wheels from the 1996 seem more narrow on the backside of the wheel. I could very easily be wrong. Any advice would be appreciated..thanks

depends on what trim level your civic is and what trim level they came off of. EX and Si's have larger calipers

^yeah, if they are 13" steelies, clearing your brakes will be an issue. 14" steel wheels are the universal civic/ integra "steelie" with no brake modifications.

what submodel did it come off of, what submodel is your car?
instead of brake modifactions which you can do if you choose such as shaving the calipers everybody i know pretty much just runs spacers. Depending on the answeres to my first question it should be a 2mm spacer that you need.
