Will this stereo work in my car?

i had an aftermarket stereo and it was stolen, well my qesutiion is that will a 2001 civic stock stereo w/cd-player work for my 96 civic hatch, will i need any rewireing or anything?

The 2001 civic dash has a curve on the top right corner of the head unit. The 1998 does not.
