amp
sony xplod mx-sd61x class d momo amplifier
300 w rmsx1 @ 4 and 600 w x 1 @ 2 ohms..

i have 2 sony xs ld125p5 subs
rms 400 watts 4 ohms 4 layer dual vioce coil

i also have 6.5 and 6x9 with stock tweeters..i am going to get a 4 channel amp for interior speakers and upgrade the tweeters..'
BUT FOR NOW...

I have been doing alot of research on the best way to hook up these subs...i bought these and the amp cause i read that with the ohm loads and the wiring i can run more watts with 2 dvc's to a mono block amp. with those spec above...should i run the series and if so exactly how??? i know you connect the subs neg to another subs pos and then run the others to the amp but can someone give me the (blue print) or tell me in steps the way to acheive the most power with the wiring and the ohm load ??...thanks guys

series parallel will give you a 4ohm load because you have 2 4ohm dvc subs. The only other way to wire it, parallel all voice coils will give you a 1ohm load and your amp wont handle that. You really should have bought 2ohm dvc subs so that you could series parallel them and end up with a 2ohm load and have 600watts. But with your current setup, you are only going to get half the efficiency of your amp because your only option is series parallel.

yup you got the wrong subs, 2- dual 2 ohm voice coils or 2 single 4 ohm voice coils

DAMNIT...I HAD A FEELING A F(*&&^D UP..........

WHAT if i changed the amp to a 2 channel 200 w rms x 2 @ 4 ohms but 500 w rms x 1 @ 4 ohms ( 4 ohm stable in bridged mode.)....then get another one just like it and have each one to each sub???

will that give me the full 400w from the sub ? I guess there is a good chance ill blow them though?

if you run one amp per sub, then you have different options. If you are staying with the 4ohm dvc subs, then you either, parallel for a 2ohm load, or series for an 8ohm load. So you would be looking for two amps that put out 400-500 watts at those channels, but i would definitely go with the 2ohm load because a 400watts amp at 8ohms im sure is kinda hard to find. it would also be putting out 1600watts at 2 ohms. So my suggestion is to either find an amp that puts out 800watts at 4ohms and series/parallel the subs, or find two 2ohm dvc subs and series/parallel them, whichever is cheaper or more convenient for you.

the 500 watt x 1 @ 4 ohm mono will be fine.
You can run 2 dual 4 ohm voice coil subs at 4 ohms. Wire each sub up to 8 ohms and bridge it back down to four

yes, that is the setup you need to use. You are actually wiring the sub itself in series (positive of one voicecoil to the negative of the other) then parallel the terminals that aren't wired (2 pos, 2 neg) back to the amp, just like it is shown. You will have 250watts per sub. I currently have the same problem as you do. I have a kicker 600.1 which is 600watts at 2ohms, but i was shafted with dvc 4ohm kicker comp vrs....but they are loud enough for me. I had the dvc 2ohm vr's b4 and hit 150 db's with 600watts rms. my amp is only putting out 150watts per sub at 4ohms, but i am still hitting in the mid to high 130's.

ok so now i know what i need to do with the subs and amp.. just sux cause i got the mono block 300w x 1 @ 4 ohms comming witht he sub and they sent me an email that only 1 sub is being shiipped and i have to wait until they get a new shipment for the other so they are refunding me .. haha so in the end i ordered the wrong amp and now 1 of the 2 subs i m getting is not comming...sux man.......... ok maybe you can help me out wth this...

i have sony xplod 6.5's 65w rms and sony xplod 6x9's 100w rms for my interior speakers.. i m trying to do my system all sony xplod . im figuring i need a 4 channel amp for these speakers. my question is what wattage per channel should i be looking for?.. i dotn want to blow the 6.5 but dont want to udnerpower the 6x9's.............?
