Wiring Pillar gauges

Hey guys,
Im gonna pick up a 99 honda civic thats been pretty thoroughly pimped but theres one or two things that i still want to do.
The big thing is there are two extra gauges mounted on the A pillar i think, the left front by the windshield (i hope you know what im talking about i dont know the car jargon yet) that mounted but not wired in.

Im just wondering how hard it would be to wire them so they actually work.

I think the gauges are for oil and water pressure but dont hold me to that.

Would it be possible without doing tons of apolstry stripping and buying lots of wiring stuff.

Thanks,
Ian

it really depends on what gauges they are...

but no, you just need wire, and electrical tape.

Throw all useless gauges in the trash.

I just took my car to the shop with a couple gauges that I got for cheap. He told me to throw them away because they were mechanical. They are a vacuum gauge and an oil temp gauge. In order to install them he would have charged me $200. So after all of that fluff, go with electrical gauges, yes they are more expensive, but they are entirely worth the extra cost up front. They will be more accurate as well as a lot easier to instal. With the oil temp gauge I was going to install, it wanted me to drill a hole in the base of the block so it could record the temp.... Good luck!

Mechanical guages are more accurate than electrical. Its just not safe to have 100psi of fuel running through your firewall into your cabin. Same with oil (cept tahts like 60psi or so). All guages can be useful if you know what your doing and looking for, depending on your engine setup.

Ok ill have a look at what the gauges are for and let u know.

Im just wondering if i have to install different sensors and stuff like that and if i have to really rip apart my interior to wire them?

If all it takes is plugging the wire in or something easy like that ill probably get on it, if not ill just leave them there for show lol.

Most of them are easy Oil gauges come with a oil filter adapter, same with fuel and water temp

Volt, vac, water temp, oil and tach are the easiest imo

let me know what you have if im familiar with them i can help.

ya sorry to be a downer but the guy sold the car 20 minutes before i could pick it up.

Stuck with a 3500 dollar check that cost me 10 bucks to write and a 35 buck tow truck fee (my dad told me i had to tow it to my place so we could rust coat it)

Sorry, ive got eyes on a 95 coupe but who knows.

guess i may aswell ask now cuz i want those in my other car.

What do i need to put gauges on the a pillar (front left) other then the gauges themselves.

Where do i get all this stuff, im sure my dad would have no problem letting me use his ebay account but if i could get it at parts source or canadian tire some somin like that it would be better.

Im planning on running two extra gauges and i want them to light up with the headlights. I have no idea what type of gauges im gonna get (any suggestions, its looking like imma get a 95 SIR coupe).

So i know i need the gauges and wires and whatever sensors i need but what else?

If anybody can point me in the direction of a DIY that would be great 2.
