wiring problem

Hey everyone,

I just installed halo projector headlights on my Honda Civic '02 about a month ago. I had a buddy of mine do the work and he wasn't too experienced (shoulda known from the start I would have had problems). From the car, there a clip for the turn signal bulb that has three wires running from it and running into the car... being an idiot he is, he cut the three wires off running from the clip. He then tried to have a connection between the two blue and black wires coming from the projector headlight, as seen on the right side of the picture below... (the orginal bulb/clip that was connected to the three wires are located to the left of the picture on the table)

So, he tried various combinations and the turn signals didn't work. Little did he know, he blew my hazards fuse and turn signal fuse because he touched so many wires together. Finally, he gave up and had to solder the wires from the car back onto what little slack that was left from the original turn signal clip/socket and threw out what he believed the turn signal bulb was that came with the project headlights. He replaced my fuses and I now use my original turn white signal bulbs and just placed them into the socket in the projector headlight unit and I plan to replace them with an amber bulb soon.

However, since then my park lights on my tail lights, low beams, and dashboard do not work. On the other hand, I use my autostart for my car since it's pretty chilly out... Before I get into my car and turn the autostart off, I notice that my park lights on my tail lights are on, my dashboard is lit up, and my low beams/park lights in the front are on. Once I get into my car, turn my key to where it should be as if I'm driving, and then press on the brake in order to turn off the autostart, my park lights on my tail lights, my low beams/park lights in the front, and dashboard lights all go off. Obviously there is a wiring problem somewhere and I don't even know what to do.... If any body has suggestions or anything, it would be greatly appreciated because quite frankly I am so tired of driving at night and not having lights in the back.

Thank you!

So, this dude cut the wires on the vehicle's harness, and then soldered them back together? If this problem only occurred after he messed with the wires, then there's a good chance that therein lies the problem. Since the parking, tail, and instrument lights are all on the same circuit, that would make perfect sense. Check to make sure the wires were properly rejoined. Check that the wire colors match, each wire is individually insulated and not contacting other wires, and nothing is grounding out.

Are you sure that was the only modification made to the wire harness? No other wires cut? Lights for "halos" weren't spliced in to the harness somewhere, etc..? Also double check all fuses and make sure they're in working order.
