Wiring Question

i have something hooked to my cigarette lighter and when i turn my key off, it turns off (as it should). My question is can i wire this so it stays on when my key is off?

get a light tester and find a hot wire with the ignition off.
Wire your cig lighter to that wire.

Just don't overload a crucial circuit.

you mean like find the lighter wire and redirect it? should it go to the battery?

You could tap into the Wht/Blu wire at the rear of the radio or clock. This wire is protected by fuse 32 (Back Up) under the hood.

The wire is white with a blue stripe (Wht/Blu). Just locate this wire and then splice into it and route it to the cigarette lighter, replacing the current cigarette lighter power wire. You'll now have constant power.

When you pull out the lighter, it will have three attached wires, Yel/Red (power), Red/Blk (light), and Blk (ground). Replace the Yel/Red wire with the new Wht/Blu wire.
