the 3 wires that go to my turn signal light broke and fried out a while back, so my blinker hasnt been working...i finally found a good conector with about 8" of wire (thanks to 'tnk') so im getting ready to connect the new connector and wires to the OLD wires....

my question, whats the best thing to use to connect them...

wire nuts? (bottom left) or the little "tubes" you pinch shut? (bottom right)

or....something totally different from either of those? any help would be appreciated

solder and heat shrink tubing would be best, but you can use the "tube" ones they're called butt connectors

never saw the heat shrink tubing....and ive never solder'd anything before (at least not personally) so would it be something easy i could do? could i use the butt connectors for a temporary fix while i try and get my hands on a soldering gun and some "heat shrink" ?

thanks for the replies by the way :thumbs up

how'd it go john? heat shrink is just a good way to cover and protect the connections, you can put it over butt connectors or soder

i was about to wire them together, then i realized the corner lense i had was cracked, and the seal was broken...i didnt want to wire it all up, install it, just to have a bunch of water get in there and mess it all up again...so ive got a new corner lense on the way :thumbs up....but ill let you guys know how it goes ;)

Butt connectors work just fine.

You can get a good set of Klein crimpers at Home Depot for less than $20.

Channel Lock makes a good crimper too.
GBs will give you carpal tunnel syndrome.

There was an article in Counterman awhile back and crimp type butt connectors were often stronger than the wire itself. It compared favorably to solder and heat shrink. Don't get me wrong, solder and heat shrink is still a great method but crimp connectors done properly are pretty good too.

I used the butt connectors to wire my moped ignition system. They work great but I'm going to use some heatshrink to keep water and s**t out.
