would it be wise to switch to all Rockford Power?

My current audio set up consists of 3 sets of alpine Type R component speakers 1 set of alpine 6x9 Type R. 3 10" RF P3 subs. 2 RF T600-4 and a T1500-1bd with the Alpine iDA X-100 head unit

My actual question is that should I swap all my Type R speakers for Rockford Power Speakers?
I hear that the Power Speakers are a lot better than the Alpines. I cant decide since i have never heard Rockford power component speakers for myself. Is there a big difference?

What i do know however is that the Rockfords look a whole lot sexier than the alpines with their grill. ;)

Thanks In advance!

my buddy had rockford powers 6x9's in a maxima, and they were amped, but were loud as hellll when they werent amped.. so i can vouch for those speakers, however alpine has good quality speakers but if i was you i would go with rockford.

ill take those alpines too lol

I was also thinking of having a fiberglass rear deck made for me so i can fit another set of component 6.5" speakers instead of 6x9s. My current rear deck rattle like no other. Iv probably used like 3 sets of the dynamat xtreme trunk kit already. ugghh.

When i switch ill sell my alpines.

Is there a difference in quality of sound between the two?

dynmat ftw and I've heard type rs and rockford p3s (i think) and the rockfords sounded a little punchier than the alpines...could've been the amps that were used or the head unit settings, but the alpines sounded alot cleaner and the bass was smoother. If you were getting new subs and are in this price range I would seriously consider looking at Resonant Engineering. Those are the best subs I have ever heard.

edit - my bad didn't see that u had the p3s already, thought u were talkin about subs, I have no idea about components

lol when my subs hit the bass, the rear deck goes insane and starts like jumping and rattling. as for the dynamat i meant i 3 sets used on my whole car together...Im actually thinking of getting 3 10" RF T2 subs. I believe my box can handle it...i mean i have basically no trunk maybe 5 inches. lol All my saved money going back into my car...How sad lol

Ill end up buying a more powerfull amp also. this is depressing. lol

the rear deck rattle is a common problem...not sure if this is wokrs 100% but I've hear of people removing the plastic covers on the rear speaks and shoving paper towel or something related in there

Is There a difference between a Sedan and a coupe when the trunk is involved? I have no idea but all i know is that mine is a rattle machine. The guys at my local audio shop fixed it temporarily buy moving the hinge that connects the trunk like to the car when you close it. They told me that with my bass however that it would eventually move back and start rattling again. Ill get a vid so you can hear my rattling situation.

yeh the hitch on the trunk will rattle, try wrapping it in electrical tape so it isn't metal on metal...dunno worked for me. Could also be your license plate.

Alpines tend to be less "punchy" while Rockfords tend to be more "bassy." I personally prefer Alpine components to Rockfords, but it's all a matter of taste. I think Alpines can be dialed in a bit better than Rockfords, but if you're set on switching, I'll take them off your hands.

Well When i switch ill probably sell my type Rs for pretty cheap....Or ill set them on fire like some of the jack asses on youtube. lol jk. I mean everything sounds good and all but if the Rockfords have good highs and pretty good mid bass then im set! im uploading my vid onto photo bucket ill have it up shortly.

oh heres the vid. Please dont mind my Temp Eclipse amp..My other rockfords on its way back from RF in Arizona..I broke the power amps gain knob oops

I guess the camera cant pick up the movement too well. its just a point in shoot camera
But u can see the rear window flex a bit. Allso the license place does not rattle i had that taken care of already.

I believe i should also note. When you watch the vid on a computer with surround sound including a sub it will come out as beautifully as it really is. This vid sounds excellent in my room!

Those Rockfords Would look beautiful In those kick Panel pods instead of the type Rs.
