I'm planning to the Viper - 5901 Responder LC3 SST remote start/alarm on my civic ex sedan and is wondering do i need any extra part like the bypass module. THanks
do you knoe any you would recommend?Alarms are like HID kits. You are just paying for the name. They are all made in China or somewhere in Asia. Try to find a cheap alarm with good reviews. Look for a website called asianwolf. Bought several alarms from there and never had any problems.

And you do realize that those prices include basic installation right? On a 00 Civic that covers everything. Honestly, even at that price, that's still a steal for the customer, for the time it takes to do an alarm properly and how much of a pain it is, the markup is not even close to what installation should be and would be at a self respecting shop.definitely paying for name brand with viper... ever look up best buy employee discount on anything viper? You literally get 50-60% off, which is HUGE. It just means the markup on those things is that much.
However Viper also has great warranties, or something like that...
i'm getting the 5901 with remote start installled for 430, do u think thats a good price? I'm having a friend's friend install it for me, since from my friend's review he does a nice install and dosen't half ass it.It's hilarious how many people are under the impression that Viper is just a name.....they don't realize DEI, who makes Viper, is pretty much the only company out there who is worth a crap in the security market. Sure, with a model like the 5901 you're paying for a nice screen and things like that, but you're paying options and conveniences such as D2D, world class tech support, other product support like convenience modules, flexibility with built in relay circuits like the flex and light flash isolation. So please don't listen to people who more than likely don't work in the industry, work with the product, and don't know what they are talking about.
