WTF? Rear speaker set up in 92 hatch

Well, I finally got around to taking the panel off the rear so that I can mount speakers. Although I've seen posts where people have stipulated that the wiring is already there, there are no speaker wires to mention. WTF? I checked the OE male harness for the headunit and there is definitely rear speaker wires leading out. Are these wires hidden? I know that there is already a provision for rear speakers (looks like 5-1/2") with a bracket hidden behind the plastic panel but no wires. Anyone have a better clue?

Incidentally, I'm going to run a Pioneer DEH-P80MP headunit with 6-1/2" component set up front with some 5-1/4" two ways in the rear. I imagine I won't have any mounting problems with the rear speakers.

Was there a radio there from the factory? If so there should be wires. If there was no fasctory HU, there wont be any wires.

Im not sure your gen, but I know 6th gens and 5th are 5.5" (some may have 6X9 holes too).... Mounting depth for those pioneers you have will be no problem. =)

You know, I have no idea whether there was a factory radio or not. There are OE speaker wires extending into the front doors so I'm assuming it did. I searched around in the rear speaker locations again and still could not find the speaker wires. No biggy. I'm going just going to run wires directly to the back and use the HSB-502 speaker mounting brackets (from aius.com) and find the OE replacement rear speaker panel somehow, some way. =)

Well, I contacted about 5 dismantlers in the area and no one has them speaker panels. Shiets... I think I'm gonna just build something custom for it cuz the only difference is the speaker hole.
