so i go out friday night to run with some other civics from around. saturday morningi pull my air filter and see oil on the lip of my compressor housing. f**k, thats all i could muster after spending the coin for this damn thing. 14 days outa the box new and my seals go bad, booo! well i had another problem to. it did not freespool at idle. bad baerings, garbage i say. these turbos are supose to have a very reputable build behind them. so why does the guy at inline pro have another with the same issue? found out my local guy sent two back last month! now this is a precision 6262 with the billet wheel. has any one else delt with this issue or anything related or even delt with this specific tubo? thanx guys im so bumed that my ride is on jackstands:(

did you run a oil restrictor? what size hose for the oil feed line did you run?

i am using a #4 AN fitting and corresponding line. no restrictor. i played the part of a new customer and called precision. asked the details about the 6262 including restrictor, mike from precision said no oil restrictor unless its a ceramic ball bearing. i have regular journal bearings so im thinking that somewhere in production, quality control failed miserably. sucks after spending 900 on an effin turbo.

the line is pretty big, most lines are -3AN, even with a -3an i still ran a restrictor

have an oil pressure gauge? how much PSI u pumping out?

stock ls oil pump. if that helps. the diameter of the line from a -3 to a -4 is not great enough to cause the type of oil seal ans bearing failure i experienced. but im open to anything so i will def take that under advisement. thanx

Do you have an adequate oil drain size and angle?
dain size is good at a -10 and corrisponding lines. I have to rectify the drain angle though. its a 90 and im going to a 45 when i get my turbo back from precision and can drive to the pro shop downtown. need to have the fitting in the pan moved, boy is it tight in there.

and yes the fitting is above the oil level in the pan. the guy at precision said that a dirty air filter will cause ur turbo to draw oil thru the seals. i can see how it would work, but you would think they made seals that wouldn't do that. in the end though precision warrentied my turbo and ill get it back thursdays. just in time for warm weather and scantly clad women!;-)
