So today i went around my town looking for a lfietime alignment deal because i have heard of CC members talking about them. I really want one cause im gonna slam my car in the summer and raise it back up in the winter. First I went to discount tire, THEY DONT DO ALIGNMENTS? WTF? Then went to Sears auto center, they dont do lifetime alignments. Then went to Belle tire the guy said he used to do lifetime alignments but the company was losing money on them so they stopped. Where do u guys go for ur alignments, or wut do you ppl do that are in the boat as me that adjust their coils for the seasons?

I have the lifetime alignment too, it's awsome. everytime I rack my suspension on a speedbump, or anytime I go do uphill/downhill in capitol forest, I go and get it done. I'm gonna do it again as soon as I get my skunk2 camber kit and my illuminas installed.

If you haven't already lowered your car, make sure you ask if they do alignments on cars that have been lowered. I went to a Goodyear, Firestone, and some other place in my area and they said they couldn't do an alignment on my car because it was dropped. Said something about the machine not having enough clearance in the wheel wells.

Sears does 6 month guarantee from the last time you had a alignment done. I just go in every few months. I always have to take my front bumper off to get it on the machine though....takes like two min. Funny thing was I had to teach them the washer trick for rear camber.

they should have it, when i first sign up for it, they said i can take it to any firestone and they will do it for free. when i went up to seattle for vacation, i went to a firestone there.. no questions ask.. all they did was check my name was in the system and then did my alignment..

You mentioned a washer trick for the rear camber. What's that all about? A couple of months ago I had an allignment done, and now the tires in the rear need to be replaced. The damn tires have feathered soo bad that the tires are sort of chopped/irreular to the extent that my tires are making some really bad noises.

the upper control arm is held to the frame by two flange bolts, i believe 12x1.5mm but i could be wrong. all u have to do it remove those two bolts, and install washers behind the upper control arm. basically until u reach the spec for your vehicles camber. this pushes the upper control arm out away from the frame just enough to straighten the hub back up. if u need more info let me know and ill maybe get pics of mine. my camber on my RR was so bad i had to replace the bolts and install i believe FIVE washers lol. yours should not be this bad

why bother fixing the camber? isnt toe that kills your tire....

actually if u want to get technical, caster is the worst wear for tires lol. toe will make them feather and things like that, however, if you have negative or positive camber the whole tire isnt making contact on the road with the same amount of force from one side of the tire to the other (width wise). this will make the inside or outside wear out, whichever is taking the most weight. toe adjustments determine if the vehicle will go straight down the road, however if u have 3 tires pointing straight, and another with toe in or out, u get a vibration which then wears on the tire. i can see y u would think toe is the worst, but honestly without all three together set right, you will never get the most life out of your tires. i am an alignment and suspension tech and when doing alignments i try to get the actual measurements as close to spec as i possibly can without throwing wrenches lol. im not saying i know everything there is to know about what can cause what, but im still not toooooo bad at what i do. o, btw, dont f**k wit caster on ur civic unless ur a die hard road course racer and things like that. for everyday driving, camber and toe are abotu all u need to worry about. honestly i havent had any problems with tire wear bc i dont keep tires more then 10k miles anyways and i do an alignment twice a month on my own car at work so w00000000000t

I drove by a firestone today, and saw some big banners Alignments for Life, and Brakes for life, two big ass banners, i'm thinkin about droppin by and asking them how much it is, currently i have no lowering but i got 18's and want coils which require alignment every time adjusted so if i get coils i may invest

at tires plus its 99.99 for 3 year and 149.99 lifetime, we do lowered cars as well, im a sales manager, i was the lead alignment technician in the shop for a while, an ive seen my share of hondas and acuras with way the hell out alignments. one thing that will drive the tech crazy is not having the correct camber adjusment kits for the front, caster isnt such a big issue, but if the camber is out, odds are its going to throw the front toe out as well

They do yours at Sears...They wouldn't even try to get mine on the lift...I even offered to remove my front bumper right there...and they were like no way man. I'll try TiresPlus this time.
