Gents,
I have a RF DVC 12 sub that got damaged in the process of a move. Now, I have access to a nearby shop where the guy says that although he does not have specific rebuild parts for it, unlike a JBL or some other rebuildable sub, but he can put a generic rubber/foam surround on it (that's what is damaged). He says the cost will be between $50-$60.
My questions to you are:
1) Has anyone had experience getting a sub rebuilt ---'lite' damage like the surround, not extensive, say like a damaged voice coil.
2)Do you think the sub will survive getting heavy use with a replaced surround, whatever the end material may end up being?
Let me know what you think.
