Sup guys, it's been awhile since I posted on here, but then again, it's been awhile since I've been driving or modding my car (legal problems). Anyways, I'm trying to get the car back to a "driveable" state before I take it out of town with me back to college. I was doing the custom bulb conversion on my gauges the last time I was in the car and apparently I lost one of the bulb base/conductors. If anyone has this part availible from an old dash or junked civic or know any manufacturers of the part, PLEASE let me know! I've already gone to Advanced Auto Pts. as well as my local Honda dealership. The part is discontinued by Honda so the dealership doesn't have it and well, AAP never has anything I need anyways.

The part is the base/conductor for the #74 bulbs that go in the dash. It's brown, NOT BLACK. The black ones are smaller bulbs used for indicators (seat belt, check engine, etc.) This bulb lights up the actual gauge faces (speedometer, tach, etc.) The #74 bulbs will NOT fit in the black bases. Both read "TOSHIBA V-2" on the back. If anyone can help me with this problem I'd GREATLY appreciate it. I posted a pic below if you don't know what I'm talking about.

(ignore all the crap on the bulb, I was experimenting with bulb paint...)

Wow. I just realized that the guy at the dealership is a complete idiot. I have the exact same photo of parts and I just realized that he was looking at the wrong number the entire time. Oh well, I realized that the Low Fuel Indicator runs on the same base. So I just swapped them out. Thanks for clearing that up for me!

I have the same problem....yesterday I disassembled my dashboard gauge in order to change the failed bulbs...and I coul indentify that we have to sockets (brow and black) ... in the brown one the bulbs are smaller and does not have the blue cap around the bulb....the black ones are smaller and does not have the blue cap around the lamp.....I´d like to find the Part Numbers of these items.....

This thread is from 2005. But, atleast you didn't make a new thread about it.
