So I have an OEM alarm on my 99 civic ex. Normally, when you click the "lock" button once, it simataneously locks the doors AND arms the system. I want to change the settings so that with one click of the lock button on the keyless entry that it will lock the car and two clicks will arm it, anyone know how?

Why would want to lock the car and not arm the system, unless for valet reasons?

well I dont want my alarm ALWAYS activated. Id like to be able to just the lock the car sometimes. I know I could use a key, but I want to be able to use the remote. But, I guess you could set the main brain of the alarm to the cx / dx model, which allows for a valet mode and use that.

Dude I have a 2000 civic ex coupe. It had a OEM alarm. which wasnt really a alarm it was keyless entry with a panic button. Its not really a alarm bro is what im trying to say. All it is. Is keyless entry...install a alarm man before your s**t gets stolen like it did to mine. The oem alarm/keyless didnt help s**t

lol.. Honda offered an accessory alarm kit. Trust me, I have it. Theres a red LED and if I open doors / trunk / disconnect batter / open hood / etc. it goes off.

$13 for an OEM alarm FTW.

But my idea was to rewire the power for the alarm to the horn relay (2 clicks of the "lock" on the keyless remote) so that one click would lock still, but 2 would arm. When I crossed this idea with a co-worker he said no cause itd f**k up the brain, so ill just leave it. But thanks.

you didnt have an alarm then, just keyless entry. my car came with keyless entry as well, i had to install a factory alarm. the factory alarm works off your keyless entry remote though
