Hi i know theirs TONS of threads on how to make your cluster led.

Im talking about a 99-00 civic.
Currently I did this http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1054824 basically painted the guage cluster bulbs with transparent paint. I did that about a year ago and i do recall getting #24 long lasting bulbs from autozone for it. Now i want to replace them with LEDs. I already ordered a #194 bulb and several #74 bulbs. I couldnt find any leds for #24 bulbs so i ordered the #74 bulbs becuase i saw a thread saying it SHOULD work. I need a definate answer will it work? And if i intend to do my climate control what size bulbs are require and where do you get LEd bulbs for #24 bulbs. I just cant find the #24 bulbs in the LED version

74s work in 24 slot. Climate control bulbs are 2 74s.

cool thats what i wanted to know. Ive seen DIY for the climate controls. If you replace JUST those 2 74 bulbs. Like barely any of the climate control will be eluminated without integrating new leds and s**t right?

bump so once again if i replace ONLY those two 74 bulbs behind the climate control how much of the climate control will be illuminated without me wiring up more leds to it?

I'm not sure if you'll be able to fit the 74 bulbs n the 24 slot..I had a hard time getting them to fit so I just painted some 24's. I'm not sure how well the LED's would spread in that area. I know that When I did mine in blue LED, I used 4 of them to light up the whole thing since they are really directional

if you're worried about directional light I suggest you go with these...

well i know theirs gonna be hot spots with leds unless u evenly distribute them

I ordered WLED's from http://www.superbrightleds.com/mini-wedge.html
on the site it says: Inverted cone clear lens causes the light to emit from the sides as well as the end. Built in current limiting resistor and diode to protect the LED from reversed polarity installation. These bulbs are polarized so if you plug them in and they don't light, turn them around in the socket and they will light.

I just hope that since i already ordered it that the 74 bulbs will fit in the 24 sockets...

and I ordered some spares so if its ok ill use the spares and put the extra 74 bulbs behind the climate control. Yet i still wanna know how much it will illuminate in the climate control without adding more leds with resistors and s**t if i just replace the 2 bulbs their with 74 leds...

last night i did the cluster today i ATTEMPTED to do the climate control and the 2 bulbs for the a/c, defrost, and recirculate buttons. THEY ARE NO f**kEN #74 bulbs in their theirs just these gray shits:

with a light bulb in it and the wires coming outa the back of the light bulb wrap around the gray things
what a waist of time. So what now i either can do led strips or get leds with wires in the back to replace those bulbs. or say f**k it to the whole thing....

How bright is this painted bulb trick? I just replaced the lights in my climate control with LED's from superbrightleds.com. I only did the adjustment nobs, and they came out really good and bright. Still need to work on the buttons though, and that's why I ask.

I followed this install guide from brokenlimits on clubsi.com:

The Climate controls have the white long piece's that you have to cut them flush till the part that screws in and you have to cut the #74 bulbs back end, since they are made in plastic it should be a problem just don't cut it all the way to the end leave a little back end plastic on the # 74 bulbs.
Then just twist the wire's the way the other oem one where done, but with the led’s they go half way don't do entire turn and don't worry about getting them the right polarity in, if it doesn't work just get them locked the other way.
I wish I toke pictures, but take your time and patience I'm sure if I could do it without any explanation on how to, you can do it to.
Good Luck.
If I could help you with anything else let me know.
