i would try tunning it with chrome or if u can afford it get hondata. I had crome with a basic t25 setup. and then when t i went with a gt28rs and i wasnt making enough power. decided to get hondata and i got and extra 35whp.

also you might need something to mess with timming.

but why would you ever even think about going outside the safety range especially with how unreliable a turbo car can be sometimes. Sure it'l run fine for now but hes prone to throw sooner or later at that rate, much faster than someone only making 220hp. Keep it below 220 unless you have the funds and the knoledge to be replacing motors over and over.
its called proper tuning. if the motor is properly tuned, there should be no reliability issues

281hp 13.001/4

ok ok sorry im posting this in ur thread but i was reading it for info and i talked to a guy on turbod16 and hes running a jdm dohc zc turboed with miner bolt ons and stock internals and he dynoed at 281 crank hp and ran 13.001/4 time and he ran that setup for 2 years he broke a rod over reving it at the track and that was due to no rev limiter so it jumped to high and boom but he said his was fine for that 2 years and he drove the s**t out of his car so.................... i dont know how much of what he said was bs or not but i saw him run the 13.00 and i dont know what would b safe or not some im stickin around 200hp

lol ok. there is a mechanical limit no matter how well you tune it. the d-series is 220hp.
explain that to the guy making 400+ on a STOCK d16z6, or nerdsports making 280 on a stock y7 bottom end

WHY do D motors fail in the mid 200s? improper tuning, plain and simple

btw your first post says 350cc injectors. if you have 450 its not that.
and 220-230 is about as as safe as you should run. who-ever it is that has 242whp, it won't last for long.
especially on a y8. alot of others get bigger numbers, but not for very long. which is cool if you got the money to rebuild.
oh and psi is not what will f**k yo s**t up. its the volume of air, cfm

ok the nfine. if you are confident enough, run it to 400hp, im just warning you that im just gonna laugh when you post that you blew your engine up because you put too much power out on stock internals, your choice. so go ahead, idc if u blow ur motor up.

my motor is already built with forged internals...

did i say every motor can handle 400hp? no. all i am saying is that telling people 220hp is the limit is bullshit, there are plenty of people making that on a daily basis with no issues. hell, bbka from HMT has been driving his stock z6 at 242hp for about 2 years not and hasnt blown it up. take a guess why...

Tuning is a huge key to making huge power on any internals, but I'm sure there is a mechanical limit to the amount of heat the engine can take before it just fails. Whether it softens the rods or burns the ringlands or pops out the headgasket, the heat will be the killer. The amount of pressure in the cylinder on compression stroke will definitely have a limit also. The dense air can probably only hold so much fuel vapor before it too reaches a limit.

I'm glad i got to hear all these useful things from you guys but it's not like i go and boost it stop sign to stop sign i don't put that much abuse on it i just like to have the power there for when someone is just like hey it's a civic let's pick on it......

ive seen 80whp increases from tuning with a standalone vs piggyback fuel like afc..

timing makes a hell of a lot of diff..

Any chance you have a JDM ECU and they didn't take out the speed limiter?
