why do people make car "teams" or "clubs"? just wondering

lol we've been into cars and s**t since like 13.....and well we always saw car clubcs drive by and s**t so we decided once we got older we'd do it....well now im 18 and loving it......its fun driving around with about 5 ppl following you.....
