Hey all, i'm not sure where to post this thread so i'll just get to the point. this is for those who have done the gauge cluster mod with LED's and had problems with hot/cold spots.... there are some online called inverted cone led's that claim to spread a wider light output (i dunno...i'm prob late in the game but i first saw it yesterday). but anyway, i was thinking of buying some to try out in my cluster BUT it looks pretty simple to mod if you have a buncha regular LED's laying around.

they look like this http://frickinbrite.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=69

i was thinking of putting the LED under a drill press and cut out a cone at the tip....what do you guys think? if you guys think its a good idea then i will try it out and post the results

wow that looks nice, do you have any closer shots of it? and how much does something like that run ya?

the main reason why i want to do this mod is to get rid of the rest of the LEDs i have from the climate control mod i did on my old accord 4 years ago

i'd much rather do the led strip mod youre suggesting green 91, but it requires to take the needles off to be able to access the back of the face, no? i think removing my needles is my last option

true story..

they are not an off the shelf gauge... you cant buy the autometer carbon fiber series with the black bezels.. so i had autometer put them together for me.. and i did install blue LEDs

then i created the mounting bracket with a carbon fiber plate..
