Ok my friend just bought a 2003 lancer evo 8 it only has full 3 inch exhuast and now hes broke so he wont be able to do anything to it for awhile. My question is if I got the premade greddy turbo kit for a B18b1 and ran it at 10 psi do you think i could stick with him from a roll, By the way I have a Si tranny any feedback would be great. Thanx

you should be able to beat him power to weight ratio wins alot of races. i think it will win this one

from a roll you should be able to stick with him - I dont think you will pull on him or anything though ...

from a dig is a whole different story though ..

i doubt even from a roll you will hang, unless hes feathering it just to mess with you

all wheel drive while moving is dead weight - it makes the car heavier and doesnt provide any benefit.

evo's with a good driver run can run a 13 flat ... an ls with a b16 tranny and the kit at 10 psi should be hitting around 230 whp with a good tune - they should hang from a roll - this is all hypothetical though - the only way to find out is to do it ...

my buddy hit 12.4's in his evo with an exhaust and a safc but he is also a really good driver

edit....if you really want to beat him...buy a different kit like peak boost on a c1 they get 20whp/per lb of boost on 9.5 lbs they put down around 374 whp

that awesome but you have to remember about your internals i don't think his engine can hold that much power. just my:twocents:opinion

I think if you tune it at 5-7 psi then you should be able to roll with him. s**t man 10psi tuned and you really ought to be looking at well over 210 whp on a 1.8 motor and with the (assumed) 700lb weight advantage, you should do some spanking.

i'm gonna say it would be close, depending on the engine managment and the tune. s**t i kept up with a 02' Carrera from a dig. was actually ahead from the start to bout 100. (also think the guy couldn't drive very well) so its possible.
