hell my car is A. not tuned B. has blow by and C. leaks oil like crazy. ive been driving it this way for about 2months. only reason i havent fixed it is because i have no money, because when something breaks when your turbo, its not cheap to fix! (majority of the time)

Word to that. If you drive liek a mad man all the time then i would worry about breaking someting . If you drive like a normal person then i wouldnt worry.

i have a 99 si with a turbonetics kit that's been on for just about a month running 9psi, low end sucks because of lag and that a b16 has no torque, but other than that it's alot faster and way more fun to drive, especially on the highway. about 100 hp increase and once i change mufflers and dump the cat i'll be just under 240 whp with 110k on the car. hopefully looking for another 100k.

you should be fine as long as you're not running super high HP or boost
what does that matter? as long as its tuned correctly a high hp motor will be just as safe as a low hp motor

whats the point of turboing then? to baby it? if you cant beat on it, then you pretty much defeat the purpose of adding a turbo to make more power. i beat the living piss out of mine and have never had a failure. if the setup is done correctly, and tuned correctly, you should be able to drive it however you want

i agree, the whole point of having a fast car is to wreck shop and go fast, so turbo your car and rip it everywhere as long as you have extra gas money

Run low boost and you'll be fine. It's like instead of driving 10 miles, you really drove like 20. You'll learn a lot more about your car, I can guarantee that unless you pay someone to fix it every time which I doubt is a viable option. In any event, it could be safe. Higher maintenance though.

There will be less maintenance on a 4psi motor as opposed to a motor running 12psi on the same components. Equal tune. Yes?

how do you figure.
as long as the tune is good, there should be no difference.
as long as its built correctly no problems should arise.
my bro drove his turbo D17a @ 12 PSI for a while, stock engine, no problems

Well, there would be your standard problems of running higher, yes? Like to say the least, the engine wont last as long.
