if the tune is good, it will last as long as any other engine.

tune is the deciding factor on whether a engine will last, that and the overall condition of the engine.

tune is the most important piece of a effective turbo system.

am running my D16a9 10 psi daily with chipped tuned with crome and i dont have any problem... PERFECTLY!!!

i ran 12psi on my DD until i decided to build the motor. i now run 10 with a bigger snail. when i get my map sensor installed, ill run more than that

the maintenance is the same, and it should last just as long as any other motor. only real difference is that most turbos need rebuilt at around 60-70k. but really, who puts that many miles on one turbo? ive used 3 different ones in 3 years just because i keep wanting something bigger :cool:

as long as the tune is good, there should be no difference.
as long as its built correctly no problems should arise.
my bro drove his turbo D17a @ 12 PSI for a while, stock engine, no problems
didn't he take the turbo off because he was scared he was gonna blow it up?!?! why would he be scared if the setup was "done right?" what you guys are saying doesn't match up...

it still on there, he was thinking of taking it off, but didnt.
he runs 9psi right now.
because
1.the 570cc injectors would not idle well at all, so he put the 310ccs back in.
2.the 310cc injectors max out around 10psi(when he runs it).

it still runs great now. going to get a better tune sooner or later.
