This will be a build up for my JDM B16A swapped civic hatchback.
Over the next few weeks I will be working towards turbo. I MUST have it done by September 17 for my tuning appointment with Jeff from Evans Tuning. This project is a great way to get to hang out with my dad. He has been a mechanic for over 40 years and is glad to help me with my car. Comments welcome, please nothing too harsh?
The car:
The Turbo:
Turbonetics T3/T4, liquid/oil cooled.
Took off the bumper and hood to make things easier to access. I repainted the front bumper support and such black. I will be dropping in a race radiator which holds twice as much fluid and a slimmer fan.
Here's a shot of the turbo mounted onto the car. (temporary mount)
Another top angle. The block had to be shaved for the turbo to fit.. I wasn't to sure about shaving it but everyone I talked to said most people do it with hybrid turbos.. oh well.
There's always problems involved when working with cars. I ordered a custom 3" downpipe which was SUPPOSED to be a direct fit. Problem is the turbo mounts onto the manifold at an angle (to help clear the block) and the company didn't take this into consideration when making the downpipe.
Looks good from above..
Underneath it gets ugly..
The downpipe points too far to the left and hits the tranny. I am going to need to cut a "v" out of it or something and bend it so it's straight and then re-weld it.
other goodies installed and yet to come.. 750cc RC injectors, Walbro 255 fuel pump, 22x8x3.5 FMIC, Evolution wastegate, Greddy type RS BOV, charge piping fitment.. and other misc pics!
I hope to get high 200 or even 300horsepower.
Other mods are as follows:
Hondata s300 in P28 ECU
Skunk2 Pro series intake manifold
Skunk2 68mm throttle body
stock b16 internals (eventually going to upgrade.. just want to get boost first)
Apexi N1 exhaust
High flow cat
99 Si tranny
Exedy clutch
More pics to come so stay tuned!!!
