well i just picked this up today. its an ls/vtec with a b16 head and a b18b block. its got gsr cams and and cam gears with arp headstuds and bolts. so within the next few weeks i will be getting some goodies for it so stay tuned cause ill update this thread a few times a week.

UPDATE: 09/17/07 i painted my valve cover today but i still gotta clean up the DOHC VTEC and the honda sign, they still have some black grime on them. i just snapped a quick pic for you guys to see. well i guess thats it for now.

UPDATE 09/20/07 I made a list of the things i needed to get this thing done, i will be going to the junkyard tomorrow to pick up the rest of these pieces. ill have some pics too

sweet while that sucker is just chilling replace all the gaskets and belts and s**t, throw a new clutch on there, what tranny are you going to usE?

thanks sundown, im going to replace everything you mentioned. and to suanico im going to use the ls tranny since they have the longest gear ratios which are good for boost

You want short gear ratio's...not long.....nice pickup tho. Sell me your Y8 head for cheap. :D

for boost he wants high gearing. like what was said already, change out all gaskets, timing belt etc. Glad to see you got it, but I am still iffy about someone else's ls/vtec. Good luck man



edit: why don't you get those mounts from one of our sponsers for $138?

be very careful and check everything out. Its very easy to pick up someone elses headache.

check the cylinders and look over everything in the head.

get a short geared tranny either a gsr or b16 tranny.

Dont bother buying long gears for turbo, its one of those things that sounds like a good idea at the time but really isnt

every em1 i saw boosted was redlining/over reving within seconds.

Def. go with that LS tranny for boost. My friend's boosted GSR ran through those gears way to quick, so he switched out to an LS tranny and its a noticable difference. A little better on the dig, but tons better on rolls.

thanks for all the comments guys, tomorrow im gonna do the valve cover wrinkle black, then put some layers of red engine enamel since i have sitting in my garage

im gonna keep all the updates on the first page btw
