stock b16 300whp

i know it is possible to make 300whp on a stock b16 but how long will it last(my motor has less than 4000 miles on it)? from what i have read is that if you have a conservative tune you should be fine. i would like to have 300whp but my goal is to have a car that does at least 110mph in the 1/4 mile. how much power will i need to have that trap speed in the 1/4 mile. if the motor does give up on me what part of it will most likely break down? i am guessing the head because the block can handle the power(from what i have read).

does anyone on this forum have a stock b16 making 280-300whp?

BTW i will be happy with at least 280whp.

My B16A just did 268 whp @ 10psi on the dyno today!
All stock internals too. I was told with a Fullrace ramstyle manifold and Type R cams I could easily exceed 300Whp and be close to 350. After driving my car 268hp seems to be quite enough, it's almost scary to drive!

Upgrade your internals perhaps if you want to boost more psi. A lot of it is in tuning, with a good tune your engine should be reliable and last for some time.

my goal was 300whp and made 310 on a stock b16a2. you can make it last a while if you barely boost. but not long. its always a good idea to upgrade parts when pushing that kind of power. itll save you in the long run.

yeah 10psi on a 57 or 60 trim will get you 300ish whp if you got the ramhorn style manifold, cams, aftermarket intake manifold.

itll be around 250-275 otherwise. just a rough estimate

im right under 300whp and i trapped 111mph with street tires and 109 on a slick, but the slick is too tall or else i would be right around 113mph. but i have a gsr motor so a b16 would have slightly less because of the smaller displacement. im running a gt2871r with a lovefab tubular manifold on 9 psi.

i dont think 268 is too scary im already used to more then that and i think it isnt that fast anymore, but trust me that will happen to everybody it never ends just get bigger and bigger

i dont think you really need manifold, cams, after market intake manifold to make 300whp.
i think all you need is injectors, fuel pump, something to tune with and more than 10 psi.

can you set a rev limiter for 2nd gear when your car spins with hondata s200?

Don't forget you can put in a thicker headgasket and that is (from what I understand) pretty safe. I saw a guy running 12.8 on slicks, thicker headgasket, 14psi, and apexi piggybacks for tuning.

:what:

you dont need a 57 trim or a 60 trim to make 300whp.....nor do you need an aftermarket intake manifold, and cams.all you need is a quality kit and a good tune. weve made tons of 300whp stock b16s, without anything you listed.

weve made 300whp with 50 trims at 10psi. you don't need a thicker head gasket, or need to change anything inside the motor. several of our stock b16 street cars are into the 11's trapping 116-120mph. all running for a long time 2years+

no you dont need to to tap the head. you need to run oil lines for the turbo. you tap the oil pan for a return, and you use a t fitting for the oil supply lines(id suggest a oil filter sandwich plate over the t fitting)

some of my friends have had sealing issues with sandwich plates, but then i hear that the t fittings could crack the block. ive only had experience with the t fitting and my block hasn't cracked (yet) and im riding on cut springs. is there a specific sandwich plate company you would suggest?

Why boost stock? I would upgrade the parts so you don't have to worry about having a ticking time bomb. Just save up some dough and get some eagle parts, put them inside then boost and go even higher. Make sure you post pics as you go!
