Ok let him do it. Start with wire taps. If it works take the taps off and solder it up.

heres a view from a pro

If he messes up and you go into a shop to get it fixed

I would charge you double

once for installing

and another for the headache to figure out wtf he did.

Now alarms are for the most part pretty straight foward

But it's the skill you are paying for

what use is a alarm I can reach under your dash and rip out and disconest in 10 seconds

nothing at all

Plus what are you going to do if he taps a wrong wire, ooops there goes the airbag

I don't know what it is about guys, for some reason they think they can install anything

Now your dillema is he is going to take it personally when you tell him no

a problem to her dillema is that some alarm systems come with an insurance thing.... like Clifford alarm will give me $5000 if my car is stolen. but it has to be installed by an authorized clifford/DEI installer....

so u can always tell him that

It's not that it just takes twice as long to fix somebody elses mess up than it is to just put in a new one.

Plus if you don't understand the basics of ohms law and auto electrical a small mistake can lead to a costly repair bill

A digital multi meter is a must for alarm installs, a simple light tester can blow a car computer or set off an air bag

Especially if you are on comission and the f**k has jerked you around for info and bought all the s**t you sold him on the internet and installed it himself

f**k em
Thay ain't getting s**t for free, so double charge
