curious, but what type of knob do you have? if you're anything like me, you had it like 2 weeks before you even started the swap

I had a actual "Dremel". Used the re-inforced cutoff wheels, and it cut right thru the windplate. But you see those two little circle outlines just below where the bolts are? If you cut those out, the linkage bolts RIGHT uup w/out a problem. I actually had a problem getting the bushing to push up that far onto the stabilizer bar to clear the auto shifter holes. When I get home, Ill take alot of pics.

oh ok.. Im rocking the skunk 2 and an ARC style ball knob.. I like em both, even though they both cost me a total of like 60 something bucks.. I didnt really care , and i got a free lanyard

im sure cutting the holes was easy for you.. i was using a chuck-less (same thing as keyless) drill which is the shittiest thing you could ever possibly imagine.

just wondering, do you still have any help or are you doing this solo?

Petey came up Friday night to help, and come Sun night, Petey left, and I had my sisters boyfriend helping me out. Plus, I have my little brother to help whenever I need him. He's 6'3", and can bench 300-400lbs.

We had Petey under the car, wearing little kids saftey goggles, cutting the wind plate. It was the best thing since sliced bread.

Den: There's already a guide there. its kinda like an indention, similar to the ones under your hood for the si tower bar..

see, that person under the tranny, doing the benchpressing and taking the transmission fluid baths? that was me unfortunately If i remember right, I had to drop the transmission 6 times, including 1 time for the auto and 5 times for the manual because of problems. I hope to god you dont have to go through that.

When me and Petey droped my auto tranny, NOTHING spilled out. We drained the fluid, then Petey went to the moon w/his sphere of happiness. I didnt feel like laying in tranny fluid while putting the 5spd one in. All I know is, the auto tranny is HEAVY as fuuk.....

I need a new tranny. The ISB fell apart inside the tranny, so when I went to take it out, the outter ring of the bearing is pretty much melted to the tranny case. So....tranny hunting I go..

that's prett shitty, but maybe its for the best.. atleast you didnt find out about the isb while you were driving somewhere out of town if i was close, i would ask for the gearset out of that trans

I have no idea when Im getting carpet. I wanna get a black one. It'll finish up my black theme I have going. Nah, my WIFE dosent usually complain about me workin on my car. Usually shes the one right next to me handing tools to me or something. But she IS starting to get fed up w/this whole swap, just as I am. I just wanna be able to get a new tranny in that works, and drive it to work and whatnot. As far as what shifter it is...I have no f**king clue. Bought it off a guy here on CC, for $10. Its a dual-bend. Thats all I know.
