I am pursuing a turbo build since I have done almost all the N/A you can without taking it to the extreme like ITB's

I want to start with a mild platform. 5-7psi with a large intercooler (to use of future setup with more boost) and a small turbo. I am only looking for 250hp right now.

My question is on this setup do I need forged internals to put my mind at ease. I'm not trying to just throw boost at a motor until it blows. I want to know that my setup is going to last, and I'm not going to have to deal with it going kaboom after about 3k miles. If I need to use forged internals so be it not a problem. I'd just like to avoid having to tear the motor apart to get this mild setup going. In the future I'm looking at forged internals with a sleeved block, but for now just want a little boost. Thanks.

P.S. My current head is fully built titanium retainers, valves, dual springs.

What type of motor do you have? im sorry to pop your ballon but on 5-7 psi you would NEVER hit 250hp sorry... there have been engines making 300 on stock internals but not on that little of boost and they dont last long. IMO if you are going to boost your car doit right that way you get the most out of it and you wont be replacing the motor with in a week.... the key to HP and boost is TUNNING..... do a search you will find alot on turbo set ups. mine is turbo and i have a D16 and mine is fully build and i put down 281 on 14-15psi on race fuel. good luck with your build. im sure alot of people will be happy to guide you in the right way.

I mean if higher boost levels are safer thats fine. I'm just trying to take it easy, and keep it reliable. I have a B16

I'm running 268whp @ 10psi on all stock internals on my B16A, seems to love the boost!
Before putting down more serious power I plan to build up the internals though such as pistons and rods, maybe even some valvetrain.

jayjay makes like 300 sumthing o na stock GSR.

250 on a B16 is not impossible. but you will need higher boost to get it there

250 should not be a problem at all for you. http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1391675&page=2

you should not have anything to worry about unless you are over 270WHP.

I'm planning on having it dyno tuned, switching back to stock cams, and having my chip reprogrammed when I do it. Thanks for the thread link umair

or you could sell those stage 2 na cams you got and buy some turbo cams haha =)

Yeah I'll probably put the money from selling the n/a cams to the first build itself. Then once I get with the sleeved block and low comp pistons and forged rods I'll probably get some turbo cams and turn up the boost.

weve made 300whp on so many b16s i wouldnt worry about 250. that motor would last forever with a good tune. we have a few customers daily driving them at 325+whp. we tuned a stock b16 last week and made 405whp on a race gas tune. the amount of boost required would depend on what turbo you choose to go with. on the stock b16's we tend to use 50 trims with .48 A/R t3 hot sides. i would suggest a gt28rs with a .63 a/r hot side though. this will give you a better powerband and be more responsive on the street.

If I'm going to change that out though I might as well put in forged rods and low comp pistons while I'm in there.
