ok i have a stock ls motor (b18a1) and i want to put nitrous on it but im not sure how much it can handle. its completely stock other than a block guard. i was thinkin a 50 shot would be fine but will it hold a 75 shot or should i stick with 50? or less? i dont really have much experience with nitrous, only turbos, so help me out. thanks guys.

50shot should be fine, but if u push it alot its not gonna hold. last you 2-3months if u push it really hard. but thats what i've been told, never really looked into nitrous or anything.

well i can say that its gonna be used a few times when i first get it, just because i wanna feel it, then its strictly track use only.

run a 50 shot - check for detonation - tune it, you can run a 75 shot, on stock internals ... its all in the tune

75 shot. 50shot is for stock d-series motors.

I know people that run 100shot all day.

Over time of using nitrous your rings will go and you will have to replace them. Thats if you use nitrous a lot. Thats the only downfall to using nitrous, your rings will hate you in the long run.

I ran a 75shot on a h22 with out a problem.

thanks a lot guys i really appreciate it. i guess ill start with a 50 shot and work my way to a 75. im tuning with crome pro and my tuner is very experienced so i dont think this should be a problem.

why did no one bother to ask if its a wet or dry kit, that makes a difference.

so, 50 shot if its dry, 75 shot if its wet.

i tuned my buddies nitrous setup on a b16 with stock crank rods an oem ctr (12:1comp) piston with a 125shot and he ran it all year and pulled it out runnig good. you just have to tune it right. not too rich and not too lean

oh do yourself a favor and get a msd window switch so you can control when it turns on and shuts off before the rev limiter or convert to obd1 and run it through hondata s300.
fuel cut and nitrous don't really get along if you miss a gear

When I had my tegra 3-4 years ago, we did between a 65 shot and 75 shot on the Zex dry kit. Usually fill ups are a pain in the ass. Right now on my white hatchie were running a 55 shot. I would personally get both the 65 and 75 nozzles so you can switch off. If you have any more questions about it shoot oc_civic a pm.
